Purple Haze Cowl
I have been a knitting fool, and unless I want to drive the hubs crazy, I need to start updating my shop to pass along these knits. Although I believe a girl can never own to many scarves or neck warmers, well others might beg to differ. SOOOO here is my first piece, and don't you worry, there is a lot more coming!
Did I mention this was made from partially recycled yarn?

I have had the pleasure of seeing the work of Cynthia Vardhan in person. She was displaying her wares at Cincinnati's Crafty Supermarket this summer. I love ceramics, all kinds, but her work is really unique and beautiful, definitely check it out! Here are a few pieces from her Etsy shop.

Meet my Nina Simone..

yeah, I am one of those who names my 'things'. Personalizes them...well I finally have my own sewing machine. I can't tell you how excited I am...I have always, ALWAYS! wanted to learn how to sew. Seems to be inevitable when you are named after a fabric. But like so many things I would love to learn 'how to', the more I want to learn, the more shy I am about actually trying. I know weird....BUT not now. So stay tuned to see what my Nina will do.......

I can't remmber where I saw Jill Rosenwald's work first. I know it was a few years ago and remembering I wanted to get something for my sister-in-law. I had never seen ceramics with such a handmade yet modern feel to them (please note this was pre-Etsy times). Still it was exciting to see her have her wares on Etsy ...here are some of my favorites...

One of my favorite Etsy sellers
I am so amazed at all the talent Etsy has. There are so many amazing people out there, it's overwhelming and exciting all at the same time. I am also appreciative how friendly and kind all the people that I have interacted with have been. It's a great community and I really do wish success for all of those who have the courage to put their stuff out there.
That being said, I will try my to share my favorites. With the site getting so popular, competition is getting tough for recognition, so here is my effort in trying to help.
This week's seller : Kim Westad !!!!
Kim Westad is a ceramist who works out of her studio in Yonkers, New York. I was lucky enough to receive some of her pieces for my birthday, so I have seen her work up close. 
Mine are very similar to these three, and I must tell you, photography does not do these pieces justice. They are so much better in person. She has amazing quality and for some one who loves to 'touch' everything...I love the feeling of the 'dots'. As for her customer service, she was extremely friendly and the pieces came so well packaged, I think they could have fallen from the plane and still survived.
It is obvious that Kim loves what she does and is very talented at her craft. So please check her out either here or there.
